Jan 7th marked the opening of another promising cafe in KW. The Berlin Bicycle Cafe is located in Belmont Village and is pushing the geographic boundaries of the urban biking scene a little further. Part bike shop (downstairs) and part cafe (upstairs) this unique establishment checks off 2 very important hobbies/ ways of life for many "K-W-ians".

They will be serving coffee from Propeller Roasters, a roaster based out of Toronto. Graham mentioned that they decided to stick with Propeller because of their huge support and great customer service that they offered. Propeller isn't just good with customer service, they currently hold roast magazine's 2016 micro roaster of the year. I acquired a bag from Berlin Cafe of Propeller's Kenya Lenana and was honestly surprised by the amount of fruity flavour which came through when I brewed the coffee with my espresso machine (brew temp 200-205F, ratio 2:1 , time 27sec). I was not expecting a coffee so interesting. I am definitely going to add Propeller to my rotation at home.

I am looking forward to many great visits to Propeller on my bike. I must admit that I am not a bicycle commuter but maybe this cafe will help me to get out on my bike more often and reduce my car usage.
