Cafe Pyrus

"Fresh, local, organic. We will not poison for a profit – this is visible in the products we carry – you won’t find chemically flavored coffees, whipped cream or coffee flavored sugar drinks – just real quality drinks made with real quality ingredients. Cause you're worth it Tiger!"

About Pyrus

Pyrus opened their doors in October 2010. Their menu is created with health in mind. They are dedicated to using organic food ingredients, fair trade coffee and sustainable packaging- where they can. They want to help make the world, our community and

their customers better, one meal at a time. Sure it costs us a bit more, but we felt it was important not to poison our customers or planet for a profit.

Pyrus states that they are focused sourcing roasted coffee that accentuates the coffee bean, rather than a generic light or dark roast.  In their words, this sustains the heirloom varietals of coffee and the specialty of flavours within them. They wish to focus on bright big flavor coffees such as a Typica from Rophi Ethopia that explodes with blueberry notes or a Bourbon from El Salvador that has peak notes of pecans and chocolate.

Roasted Bean Source

Pyrus normally has in their grinders Reunion Island coffee- a large(ish) yet respectable roaster based out of Toronto.  The company president Peter Pesce has much credibility in the coffee industry.  Pyrus sells roasted beans to you from roasters such as Cultura Café, Reunion Island and they feature specialty roasters like Pilota or Detour Monthly.
