About Matter of Taste
Matter of Taste (“MoT”) opened their doors in Downtown Kitchener during March 2004. Founded by husband and wife team, Phong and Dawn Tran, they were the first coffee shop in KW staffed with a professional barista specializing in latte art.
With 13 years of coffee experience under their belt, they are renowned to be a trail-blazing pioneer of the KW coffee scene. They are coffee specialists and enthusiasts who wish to act as a hub of information for all your coffee knowledge from farm to cup. Any questions you have, they will do their utmost to answer. MoT also works with local suppliers to source delicious pastries, ice cream and gelato.
Roasted Bean Source
Phong and Dawn are currently in the process of setting up a boutique roasting operation. In the meanwhile, they source their beans from a Canadian co-op roaster.
